Spiritual Warfare: 7 Steps to Your Path to Victory!

There is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of death

proverbs 14:12

Why is it that there is a way that seems to be right, but in actuality it is not the way that leads to life and peace?

…Because we have the ability to operate in two worlds:

The natural realm and the spiritual realm.

The natural realm is where we use our senses to access it or operate in it.

But the natural man receiveth not the things of the Spirit of God: for they are foolishness unto him: neither can he know them, because they are spiritually discerned.

i corinthians 2:14

We can access the spiritual realm through spiritual means and it is in full operation whether we acknowledge it or not.

For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh:

(For the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strong holds;)

Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that exalteth itself against the knowledge of God, and bringing into captivity every thought to the obedience of Christ;

iI corintians 10:3-5

Those strongholds are a result of us thinking a way that seems right, but does not align with God’s and leads to bondage, defeat, death.

Strongholds are hidden and most of the time we don’t even recognize that they are there.

When we don’t cast down negative thoughts and imaginations that exalt themselves against the knowledge of God, it becomes a stronghold that hinders us from God’s promotion in our lives.

To that end, today we are discussing seven weapons of warfare to fight the good fight of faith and win to the glory of God the Father, in Jesus’ Name, Amen!

Seven Weapons of War of Spiritual Warfare for Your Victory

The Word of God

We know that the Word of God is powerful. Hebrews 4:12 {AMP} puts it this way, “For the word of God is living and active and full of power [making it operative, energizing, and effective]. It is sharper than any twoedged sword, penetrating as far as the division of the soul and spirit [the completeness of a person], and of both joints and marrow [the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and judging the very thoughts and intentions of the heart.”

When Jesus was tempted of the devil in the wilderness, He declared “It is written”. God’s Word is spiritual weapondry that can shatter the darkness to bring forth His marvelous Light.

The Name of Jesus

God has given Jesus a name that is above every name and at the name of Jesus every knee shall bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord. We should end all of our prayers, affirmations, declarations etc. in the name of Jesus because there is power in the name of Jesus!

The Armor of God

Paul the Apostle admonishes the saints to put on the whole armor of God so that we will be able to withstand the fiery darts of the wicked one. We do well to take “his advice” because putting on our armor causes us to be victorious in realm of the Spirit.

The Blood of the Lamb and the Power of Our Testimony

In the Book of Revelation we learn that we overcome the power of darkness by the BloodJesus and our personal testimony. Never stop telling your testimony. It is a reminder of how you got the victory of the enemy in the name of Jesus by His shed blood.

The Power of Fasting

Restraining from food gives you the discipline necessary to stay focused on the matter at hand, draw closer to the Lord, resisting the devil (so that the enemy can flee from you!); and give you the spiritual fortitude to get the victory in the spirit realm.

The Power of Praise (Thanksgiving) and Worship

When God called the Israelites out into the wilderness to worship Him, they complained instead. If they had been in a mode of thanksgiving they would have worshipped God for bringing them out and understood that He had the power to take care of them and bring them into their promised land, because of the way in which He delivered them from Egypt. God dwells in the praises of His people, and He wants us to be grateful for the wonderful things that He has done and is doing for us. Do you have an attitude of gratitude for your salvation? If He never did anything else for us, He has demonstrated a love for us that we can never repay, except to love Him with all of our heart, soul and strength. And in expressing our love for Him we have access to Him and His ability to do for us what no other power can do.

The Power of the Holy Spirit

Ephesians 3:20 teaches us about God’s ability to do extraordinary things with His people “according to the power that is at work within you”. That power that is at work is the power of the Holy Spirit. Are you filled with the Spirit or are you full of yourself? The more the Holy Spirit has control of your spirit, the more power you will operate in to bring the power of the spiritual realm into the natural realm to effect change in your life.

When we make a decision to submit to the Lord (draw near to Him) by using these spiritual principles, we resist the devil and he has no choice but to flee because he has no spiritual claim on us, and God’s promise is that He will draw near to us.

But he giveth more grace. Wherefore he saith, God resisteth the proud, but giveth grace unto the humble.

Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.

Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Be afflicted, and mourn, and weep: let your laughter be turned to mourning, and your joy to heaviness.

10 Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and he shall lift you up.

james 4:6-10
