Are you feeling fine in your faith walk today?
Would you say that you are standing in the victory circle in every area of your life?
I dare say that there are probably few and far between those of us who can say that we do not have a problem in the world. That everything is fine in my family, on the job or business or ministry, etc.
I once heard a minister say that God is not going to create a life for you where He is not needed.
I agree.
Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.
matthew 4:4
What would be the words out of the mouth of God?
I would think that it is the Bible. Wouldn’t you?
Does God speak to His children individually? Have you ever heard God speak to you?
I have.
In fact, His Word says that my sheep hear my voice and a stranger they will not follow.
Yet, I am hearing people (supposedly Christians), say that God’s does not talk to you outside of His Word.
Furthermore, they say that its new age thinking to think that you can have, do and be what and who God says.
Really?
The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.
john 10:10
“If we ever needed the Lord, sure do need Him now right now” (as the song goes). We need His Spirit; we need His Word to lead and guide us into all truth.
It is the knowledge of the truth of God’s Word that makes us free. Free from the imps that are trying to convince God’s people that what God says in His Word does not belong to them when really what the devil (and the people who are working for him) is doing is perverting what God has said, and they are trying to shame God’s people into believing lies.
It is a time for examining your heart to know what you believe and stand (in your heart) for what you believe.
Because we will be responsible for what we did with the knowledge and resources that the Lord has given to us.
I am beginning to see what Jesus meant in Matthew 24:24 when He said that if it were possible, the very elect would be deceived.
I want to encourage my brothers and sisters to read, watch, listen to the Bible daily. Make room for God in your daily activity and worship Him so that you can hear what the Spirit of the Lord is saying.
Does God’s Word Work?
While I agree that we will always have challenges to overcome in this world, I don’t agree that any and every one of those challenges cannot be overcome by the Word of God.
If we make the commitment to live by God’s Word, we can stand on His promise that His Word will not return to void, but that it will accomplish what He has intended for it to do in your life, your loved one’s life and even someone across the globe that you don’t even know.
Praying God’s Word is effective and powerful. And yes, we need power if we are going to live victoriously. (Luke 10:19)
So how does the Word of God become more than just ink on paper and alive in our hearts, so that we are cleansed, humbled, and grow up in the things of God?
- We have to read the Word with the Spirit
- We have to mix the Word with Faith
- We have to be not only hearers, but doers of the Word
- We have to pray and speak God’s Word
The key is releasing our will to the Lord, telling Him that we do not know how do these things, and asking Him for His help.
Do you think that you can get some traction on what you need accomplished (for yourself or as you stand in the gap for someone else), if you do these (aforementioned) things?
But Not Only That…
the Bible ministers to us to help us to:
- Locate ourselves
- Learn faithfulness
- Learn to walk in the Fruit of the Spirit
- Learn how to stay on the narrow path that leads to life
- Learn how to walk in the counsel of the God
- Learn how to walk in relationship with your God
We learn how to walk in relationship with God when we read, study, apply and obey God’s Word, and then we can experience the full benefit of all that God has prepared for us in this life.
So I ask you to ask the Lord to help you to love His Word, to learn His Word, and to live the Word of God.
Because…anyone can start well, but if we want to finish well, we are going to have to take this journey one day at a time, trusting God for what He has said (and not walking in the counsel of the ungodly).
The Word (Who is Jesus) of God is called the Bread of Heaven. It satisfies our soul like nothing else can in this life. It is spiritual food that nourishes us so that we don’t suffer from malnutrition, and become weak, falling prey to the devil who is going to and fro seeking whom he may devour.
So read/study the Word, pray the Word, walk in the Word and speak God’s Word everyday.
How Can You Walk A Victorious Walk in the Word?
You know the saying: If you fail to plan, you plan to fail. Think morning/evening routine where you have time blocks designating what you are doing at specific times during the morning/evening hours that will help propel you into action and prepare you for what is to come.
If you need assistance in this area, I have created a prayer journal/planner that will guide you in constructing a routine that lends itself to motivate you to read the Bible, Pray and make daily Affirmations.
Because at the end of the day, we want to make progress in our walk with Christ that will yield fruit long after we have transitioned into our eternal home. Which by the way, we want our Father to bid us “well done” when we get there.
Prayer Time
Father, in the name of Jesus, may Your Word be unto me like a lamp unto my feet lighting the path to my destiny and a fire in my bones causing me to do great exploits for Your Glory. Amen.
For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.
