When we journey through a wilderness season, we experience “fiery serpents, scorpions, and drought.” While it is a very trying time, it is also a time that we should be moving closer to the LORD so that we will walk in His Peace, Provision, and Protection.
We experience the enemy’s fiery darts against our family members and against us. We may experience loss. We may experience lack. These are the times when we are to become “true worshippers.” Because God is doing a new thing, He wants us to move into the place that He has for us for the upbuilding of His kingdom.
During this challenging season, if you draw near unto the LORD, He will draw near to you:
2 And thou shalt remember all the way which the Lord thy God led thee these forty years in the wilderness, to humble thee, and to prove thee, to know what was in thine heart, whether thou wouldest keep his commandments, or no.
3 And he humbled thee, and suffered thee to hunger, and fed thee with manna, which thou knewest not, neither did thy fathers know; that he might make thee know that man doth not live by bread only, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of the Lord doth man live.
4 Thy raiment waxed not old upon thee, neither did thy foot swell, these forty years.
5 Thou shalt also consider in thine heart, that, as a man chasteneth his son, so the Lord thy God chasteneth thee.
6 Therefore thou shalt keep the commandments of the Lord thy God, to walk in his ways, and to fear him.

My Path to Financial Freedom
The one thing that helped me to power through my wilderness season was the Word of God. Reading it, speaking it, and acting on it. The Word (which is Jesus Himself) kept me during the hard times.
Oh yes, there are fiery serpents and scorpions (read demons) that come to torment you to make you give up, cave in, and quit. But it is the Word of God that will sustain you, comfort you, and help you through to the promised land. If you abide in the Word, the Word will abide in you, and His grace shall be sufficient for you.
The following scriptures helped to sustain me and press toward the mark for the prize of my high calling.
- Matthew 6:33 – But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.
- Deuteronomy 8:18 – But thou shalt remember the Lord thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.
- Isaiah 60:1 – Arise, shine; for thy light is come, and the glory of the Lord is risen upon thee. For, behold, the darkness shall cover the earth, and gross darkness the people: but the Lord shall arise upon thee, and his glory shall be seen upon thee. And the Gentiles shall come to thy light, and kings to the brightness of thy rising. Lift up thine eyes round about, and see: all they gather themselves together, they come to thee: thy sons shall come from far, and thy daughters shall be nursed at thy side. Then thou shalt see, and flow together, and thine heart shall fear, and be enlarged; because the abundance of the sea shall be converted unto thee, the forces of the Gentiles shall come unto thee.
- Isaiah 43:18-20 – Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old. Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert. The beast of the field shall honour me, the dragons and the owls: because I give waters in the wilderness, and rivers in the desert, to give drink to my people, my chosen.

The LORD has made provision for His children to not only survive but thrive because He is raising us up for such a time as this to do Kingdom business for His Glory.
How I Obtained My Debt-Free Home
10 And it shall be, when the Lord thy God shall have brought thee into the land which he sware unto thy fathers, to Abraham, to Isaac, and to Jacob, to give thee great and goodly cities, which thou buildedst not,
11 And houses full of all good things, which thou filledst not, and wells digged, which thou diggedst not, vineyards and olive trees, which thou plantedst not; when thou shalt have eaten and be full;
12 Then beware lest thou forget the Lord, which brought thee forth out of the land of Egypt, from the house of bondage.
13 Thou shalt fear the Lord thy God, and serve him, and shalt swear by his name.

I also wanted to share a strategy that I used to obtain my home because I feel the leading of the Holy Spirit to outline this process for those of you who are believing the LORD for a home. He wants to instruct you on how to obtain your home.
This journey involves a 5-Step process:
- Get a picture of the house
- Get a scripture (make sure that that scripture speaks to you!). In doing this you are agreeing with God. And if possible, get someone who wants to see you succeed to agree with you (Matthew 18:19).
- Pray that Word over the property (in an affirmation)
- Call it into the natural realm by seeing yourself in it (receive it in your heart)
- Go “spy out the land”. Make an appointment to see the home and pray (and make a declaration over the property). Once you see yourself obtaining that house, everything that you need to obtain it will manifest. The key is to be sensitive to the Holy Spirit giving you instructions concerning your next steps.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
