The Gift of Healing: My Personal Testimony of Divine Healing

Whenever someone in our family gets sick our immediate response is “speak the Word”. Why? Because Jesus has done everything that we needed Him to do to bring us healing and health in our bodies and in our minds.

One of our favorite scriptures to quote is Isaiah 53:5, “He was wounded for our transgressions, bruised for our iniquities, the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes, we are healed”. With the beating that Jesus took upon Himself on our behalf, we can receive healing by believing what Jehovah said in His Word.

This is just one of Jehovah’s healing scriptures that promises us healing and health.

There are many healing scriptures that promises us healing spiritually, physically, mentally, emotionally and financially.

God’s Word will heal us everywhere we hurt.

What are the criteria for receiving and tapping into such wonderful promises?

In the Book of Exodus, Jehovah told Moses to tell His children this: “If thou will diligently hearken to the voice of the Lord thy God, and will do that which is right in His sight, and wilt give ear to his commandments, and keep all his statutes, I will put none of these diseases upon thee, which I have brought upon the Egyptians”. God puts a distinction between His people who walk in obedience to Him, and those who choose not to obey Him.

To obey is better than sacrifice. Obedience brings blessings; disobedience brings a curse. Here again, God’s Word admonishes us that He has set before us life and blessing or death and cursing.

It is our choice to choose life and blessing or by default choose spiritual death and cursing.

Those of us who have made Jesus Savior and Lord have access to these promises through His sacrifice on the cross, and Jehovah’s covenant with Abraham (Galatians 3).

So, we may conclude that we are no longer under the law (but under grace), and have indeed been made the righteousness of God by Christ Jesus, and therefore we have a better covenant then that of Abraham; that of the New Testament sealed in the Blood of Jesus.

Nevertheless, Jesus has commanded: “If you love me, keep my commandments”.

So what has Jesus commanded us to do? Be salt, be light, pray for our enemies, do good to those who do not necessarily mean us any good, love your neighbor, love God with all your heart and soul.

My Personal Journey of Divine Healing

My journey of divine healing of high blood pressure begin many years ago when the Holy Spirit came to me while I was eating a barbecued pork rib, and informed me to stop eating pork. He did not have to tell me twice. I put that rib down and I did not look back.

Someone must have given me that plate of food because my husband had grown up not eating pork, so this new phase of not eating pork was a pretty easy transition.

Fast forward a dozen years later, I notice that every time that I would eat, I would began to feel dizzy. I asked the Lord what was happening, and He said that it was the salt in my food. So, I stopped cooking with salt, but I still was experiencing dizziness after eating, and so I surmised that it must be the salt that was already in the food, so I made adjustments which still yielded the same results.

Finally, the answer came: High Blood Pressure. My initial reaction to this revelation was what it usually is when I receive a negative report about me or my family. “Devil, you’re a liar, I do not receive it”. I begin to fast and pray, standing on God’s healing promises, and after about a week, the symptoms of High Blood Pressure had disappeared! Praise God Jehovah Rapha (The God Who Heals)!

Two reasons why my healing manifested as fast as it did:

  • I heard and obeyed the voice of God when He told me to stop eating pork, all of those years before High Blood Pressure manifested in my body.
  • I refused to believe the report of the devil, and I chose to believe the report of the Lord recorded in many places throughout scripture which teaches us that not only will God heal us, but He has, in fact, already provided healing for us and all we have to do is believe Him. Believe that His love for you in giving you salvation (which in the Greek means Sozo. “Sozo” is the Greek word for salvation, yet it’s root meaning goes beyond just the forgiveness of sins. According to Strong’s Concordance, Sozo also carries the idea of being physically healed of diseases and to be delivered from your enemy. In the spiritual sense, that enemy is the devil and his demons; sozoministries.net.

Scripture says that the Holy Ghost is our teacher; that we don’t have to have someone to tell us what the will of the Lord is. Yet, He does use people to awaken us to His truth which makes us free!

Jehovah is speaking to us daily telling us what to do in our own personal lives. It is in our best interest to take heed diligently to His voice.

Whether we are in need of spiritual, mental or physical healing, Jehovah Rapha (The God Who Heals) is in the healing and restoration business. He does not withhold any good thing from those who walk uprightly before Him. (Psalms 84:4)

If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.
