Bible Verse:
Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worth in us…” Ephesians 3:20
Inspiration:
The Power that is referred to Ephesians 3:20 refers to the Holy Spirit. He is the third person of the Godhead. He is a comforter, a teacher…the creative power of God. And He extends an invitation to every one who has asked Jesus to be Savior and Lord in their lives. Have you received the Holy Spirit since you believed?
God is not going to give you some strange thing if you ask Him for His Holy Spirit to come and take up residence in your re-generated spirit.
And I tell you, ask, and it will be given to you; seek , and you will find; knock, and he who seeks finds, and to him who knock it will be opened. If a son asks for bread from any of you who is a father, will you give him a stone? Or if he asks for a fish, will you give him a serpent instead of a fish? Or if he asks for an egg, will you offer him a scorpion? If you then, being evil, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to those who ask Him? Luke 11:9-13
And that power resides in every believer who has yielded to him by asking him to dwell within their “temple”.
When this awesome power who descended upon Jesus in the form of a dove, immediately Satan knew Who Jesus was: The Son of God. It was after that recognition that the Spirit led Jesus into the wilderness to be tempted of the devil. Jesus withstood that temptation (by quoting scripture to the devil), and afterward Jesus began His earthly ministry.
This is our pattern follow as believers. After we have received the baptism in the water; the baptism in the Holy Spirit; we are tempted and tried; we must pass the test or else we have to go around that mountain until we get it right. When we get it right, then God releases us into ministry, purpose, destiny.
When we walk through the process, we receive the promise of the Spirit through faith. “Does God give you the Spirit and work miracles among you by the works of the law, or by hearing with faith? (Galatians 3:14, 5)
We can see Jesus’ process in Matthew Chapters 3 and 4: He is first baptized by John; after His baptism, the Spirit descends upon Him; He is tested in the wilderness (He passes the test); His earthly ministry begins.
This is the process of unlocking the power within us. There are believers who are baptized in the Holy Spirit, but they feel stuck because they are not operating in their gifts and callings.
Our “wilderness wandering” series will discuss how to walk through the process (the wilderness experience) and come out on the other side (your promised land-your destiny).

Father in the name of Jesus, I pray for those who are seeking your guidance in this hour as Paul the Apostle prayed that we will be filled with the knowledge of Your will in all wisdom and spiritual understanding; that we will walk in a manner worthy of the Lord, pleasing You and being fruitful in every good work, and increasing in the knowledge of God, strengthened with all might according to Your glorious power, enduring everything with perseverance and patience joyfully, giving thanks to the Father, who has enabled us to be partakers in the inheritance of the saints in the light. Fill me with Your Spirit, O God, for I am willing and obedient. Thank You for Your Goodness and Mercy unto me. Amen.
