Is Jesus On Your Ship?

This post marks the second in a series of posts on Peace

Footprints in the Sand

Bible Verse:

And straightway the father of the child cried out, and said with tears, Lord, I believe; help thou mine unbelief. Mark 9:24

Inspiration:

Most are familiar with the narrative where Jesus and His disciples are caught in the middle of a storm in the midst of the sea:

Now it came to pass on a certain day, that he went into a ship with his disciples: and he said unto them, Let us go over unto the other side of the lake. And they launched forth.

But as they sailed he fell asleep: and there came down a storm of wind on the lake; and they were filled with water, and were in jeopardy.

And they came to him, and awoke him, saying, Master, master, we perish. Then he arose, and rebuked the wind and the raging of the water: and they ceased, and there was a calm. Luke 8:22-24

Imagine yourself in their predictment, what would be your response? Large, dark storm clouds looming over the boat; there’s thunder; there’s lightning; the waves are are huge and they are about to swallow your ship into the abyss. Where are you going to go? What can you possibly do?

I’ve heard it said, that there are no atheists on a plane that is about to go down; everybody is calling on Jesus. Whoever you decide to call on, there is only One who can answer. He is the only One who can make the winds and the waves obey His command.

If Jesus is on your ship, He has the power to calm the raging seas in your life. What? Know ye not that with a word, He can change your situation? Yes, He longs for you to trust Him to be God in your life. Are you ready for that word? Okay, here it is: Where is your faith?
