Peace: In The Midst of A Storm

This post marks the first in a series of posts on Peace.

Bible Verse:

Then He went to the surrounding villages, teaching. He called to Him the twelve, and began to send them out… Mark 6b,7

Inspiration:

Most are familiar with the narrative where Jesus’ disciples are caught in the middle of a storm in the midst of the sea. Actually, there are two such stories about Jesus, the disciples, and some stormy winds and waves.

However, I am talking about the instance where Jesus sent the disciples ahead of Him to the other side of the sea.

When evening came, the boat was in the midst of the sea. And He was alone on the land. He saw them straining and rowing, for the wind was against them. Mark 6:47-48

In the following verses, we learn that Jesus watched them until the fourth “watch of the night”. It was then, when He came to them walking on the water (picture it!).

They are exhausted, they feel like that there is no way that they can make it. They see a strange being and cry out for fear. They do not perceive that it is the Waymaker!

For they all saw Him and were troubled. Immediately, He spoke to them and said, “Be of good cheer, it is I. Do not be afraid. Then He went up to them in the boat and the wind ceased. Mark 6:50-51

BLOOM WHERE YOU ARE PLANTED

Has the Master given you an assignment? Whatever you are doing, then do it with all your might as unto Him. Do not abort what He has given you to do because a storm has risen in your life. He is right there with you. Cry out to Him and tell Him what is in your Heart. He will give you the grace that you need to sustain you.

The Master of the sea can bring Peace in the midst of your storm.

Whatever your storm may be today, The Waymaker can make a way in the wilderness; He can turn a desert into streams of water…

Thus says the Lord who created you and He who formed you. Do not fear, for I have redeemed you; I have called you by your name; you are Mine. When you pass through the waters, I will be with you. And through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame kindle on you. For I am the Lord Your God. Isaiah 43:1-3
